iPhone is a magnet for women

A survey carried out by a UK phone retailer has found that women are more likely to date a man who owns an Apple iPhone than one who doesn’t.

The survey was carried out for the high street mobile phone retailer, Phones4U, and 1500 women were questioned. The results, released today, showed that 54 per cent of women asked said they would prefer to date a guy with an iPhone. Some 37 per cent of those asked believed that owning an iPhone was an indication that a guy is more reliable.

Apparently it is also something of a turn-on for a guy to be tech-savvy. One respondent, a 23-year-old primary school teacher called Lucy, based in London, said: “"There's just something about a man who's good with computers that makes him more trustworthy." She added: “"If he's got the cash for an iPhone then he must be very good at his job, too."

It seems that a man’s profession is key in the dating stakes. Only seven per cent of the 1500 women questioned said that they don’t mind what a date does for a living, while 35 per cent of respondents admitted that a prospective partner’s profession is key.
